This was a session I had been counting down the days for. When Randee and I met for her consultation, she mentioned two things she loved: a creek and a record store. Record stores can be such a fun idea, but since we don’t have one locally with great lighting or backdrops, we started brainstorming other ways to bring her love for music into the session. The moment she mentioned a creek, I knew Baird Creek would be the perfect spot—and I was thrilled when she agreed.
With the plan set, we did the first part of her session in my studio. Randee brought her vinyl and record player, and we created some amazing images that truly showcased her passion for music. I have to say, she has incredible taste in artists, and I absolutely loved her vinyl collection. This ended up being one of my favorite studio sessions of the year.
For the second half of her session, we headed to Green Bay to shoot at Baird Creek and a beautiful field just down the road. From the moment we arrived, you could tell she was completely in her element—nature. We started near the bridge to take advantage of the stunning foliage in the background, and her outfit was perfect for this spot. From there, we made our way down to the creek to capture images of her enjoying the water. I always love when seniors are fully on board with getting into the creek, and Randee didn’t hesitate for a second.
Our final location was a gorgeous field. Her mom found the most beautiful mirror for a few creative shots. We finished by wandering the trails and capturing Randee surrounded by wildflowers—absolute perfection.
My favorite thing about Randee is how comfortable and confident she is. Spending more time with her during the session, I also got to see just how kind she is. Her parents should be incredibly proud of her.
